On the morning of June 17, Professor Fred Gao (Malaysian, Chinese name Gao Youxin), from Communication University of China, gave a lecture on the topic of “English, culture, and career development of English professionals” at the College of Foreign Languages.

Professor Gao introduced the differences between world languages with regard to cultures and communication. He focused on language pragmatics and cultural differences in terms of the origins of human beings, context of culture, gestures etc. He also talked about the efficiency of language communication.
